Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy hospitality team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, ensuring smooth daily operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional culinary setting, with potential pathways into more specialised kitchen roles. Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

  • Washing and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, and pans to uphold hygiene standards
  • Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and kitchen equipment throughout the shift to FSA requirements
  • Supporting the kitchen team with organisational tasks such as stock rotation and storage
  • Ensuring waste disposal is handled efficiently and in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with the setup and breakdown of service areas before and after shifts
  • Adhering to all health and safety policies to maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is a plus
  • Experience working in a busy kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as required
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
