Manpower is currently seeking an interim Global supply Chain Learning Director, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is fully remote (UK Based). This is a full-time temporary role to run for 6 months, requiring 37.50 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £105,500 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Unilever's Global Skills and Capabilities team manages the strategy, processes, and programs around ensuring Unilever's teams are equipped with capabilities to perform now and into the future. It sits as part of the HR Expertise and Innovations team.

Unilever's Global Supply Chain and Operations Organisation is a highly integrated, digitally advanced function that plays a central role in delivering the company's strategy.

It has a Global footprint, a broad reach across the extended Supply Chain, Global Digital and Technology and Service Organisations.

As well as managing the machine that ensures Unilever's products reach their customers as intended, the Global SC and Operations team lead for technical transformation across Unilever.

This role, reporting to the Global Skills and Capabilities Lead, will involve being the primary contact for the upskilling of the Global SC and Ops organisation, supporting this organisation by leading for capability building across Unilever in the areas of AI, Data, SAP, and Automation (physical), and as an active member of the Global Learning Leadership Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategy

Sit on the Global Learning Leadership Team to develop/role out the Global Learning Strategy and execute enterprise learning activities.

Lead the Global Capability programs around technical transformation, specifically AI, Automation and Data skills in partnership with GDT Business Leads.

Decode the Matrix of Skills: Map out future skills required across G SC and Ops and the technical transformation streams and design targeted upskilling plans with measurable outcomes

Developing and executing the Skills and Capabilities Strategic Plan and within Global SC and Operations.

Use technology, data and strategic partnerships to drive continuous improvement in the effectiveness, and efficiency of Skills and Capabilities programs.

2. Capability Building

Collaborate with Global, BG and functional capability teams to embed new ways of working that support the HR Operating Framework.

3. Communications & Engagement

Lead stakeholder engagement plans across Global SC and Operations - Partner with relevant Business Leads, HRBP teams, and SME networks to ensure seamless business alignment.

Craft and deliver compelling narratives that inspire capability development

Segment messaging by audience and impact level, ensuring clarity and relevance.

Coordinate with Global Learning (and E&I), the Global SC and Operations HRLT, and comms teams.

4. Governance & Reporting

Report regularly to the LLT, aligned Business Leads, the GFO HRLT and extended Learning organisation.

Track progress against milestones and use data to align and report capability uplift metrics.

5. Team leadership and talent development

Lead the Global SC and Operations Skills and Capabilities team

Integrate across the SC and Ops Business Leads, HRLT and SME network, and learning academies

THE INDIVIDUAL

The Global SC and Operations organisation is far reaching, and diverse. So we're looking for a Skills & Capability Lead who:

  • Can turn strategy into story, and story into action
  • Can turn chaos into a set of clear aligned priorities and projects and manage these through to fruition.
  • Has a strong understanding of enterprise technology (Workday, Microsoft and copilot), including learning technology
  • Can brew up workshops, digital quests, and immersive experiences that make learning addictive.
  • Can use data, intuition, and a dash of magic to build capabilities that scale across galaxies (or at least departments).
  • Wants to help people leap from "meh" to "mastery" with personalized growth paths.
  • Wants to embed learning into the DNA of our teams—like a Trojan horse, but for good.

But mostly someone who wants to build a workforce that's ready for tomorrow, today.
