Prescribing & Quality Assurance (QA) Lead – Digital ADHD Service

Webcare Group has launched a dedicated digital ADHD service providing high-quality, accessible assessment and treatment pathways. Our model prioritises safety, regulatory compliance, medication stewardship, and exceptional patient support.
We are seeking an experienced Prescribing & Quality Assurance Lead to oversee prescribing safety, medication optimisation and clinical governance for patients commencing ADHD medication treatment.
This role is office-based to:
- Enable immediate, direct collaboration with the dispensing pharmacy team
- Support efficient prescription processing
- Improve controlled drug oversight
- Manage real-time quality assurance checks
Key Responsibilities
As Prescribing & QA Lead, you will:
Prescribing & Medication Oversight
- Provide expert prescribing oversight for ADHD stimulant and non-stimulant medicines.
- Conduct medication initiation, titration, reviews, and step-down plans.
- Review complex cases and provide senior clinical decision support.
- Ensure safe, compliant controlled drug management.
- Produce accurate prescriptions within close proximity to the pharmacy for efficient dispensing.
Patient Queries, Messaging & Support
- Respond to patient enquiries via:
- Intercom-based email/message systems
- Patient messaging centre
- Telephone callbacks
- Provide clinical advice related to:
- Titration symptoms
- Side-effects
- Medication delays
- Safety-netting concerns
- Work closely with the customer service team to triage and prioritise incoming messages.
On-Site Collaboration With Dispensing Pharmacy
- Work alongside pharmacy teams to:
- Resolve prescription queries in real-time
- Facilitate urgent dispensing needs
- Clarify dosing/supply discrepancies
- Support controlled drug record-keeping
- Ensure documentation aligns with pharmacy SOPs.
Quality Assurance & Clinical Governance
- Lead prescribing audits, quality reviews, and improvements.
- Maintain alignment with:
- NICE NG87 ADHD guidance
- Controlled drug regulations
- Prescribing standards
- Contribute to incident investigations and improvement recommendations.
Patient Safety & Monitoring
- Oversee titration protocols and follow-up monitoring intervals.
- Escalate any adverse reactions promptly.
- Implement risk-stratified patient follow-up.
Policy, Pathway & Documentation Development
- Create and update:
- Prescribing SOPs
- Monitoring pathways
- Controlled drug documentation
- Titration protocols
- Ensure all prescribing events are appropriately recorded.
Team Leadership & Training
- Support competency assessment for additional prescribers as and when necessary.
- Provide clinical mentorship to new team members.
- Facilitate reflective practice and case reviews.
Continuous Service Improvement
- Analyse trends in prescribing errors or delays.
- Recommend service improvements based on patient outcomes and feedback.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
- UK registration with GMC, GPhC or NMC.
- Independent Prescribing Qualification (V300)
- Experience in prescribing ADHD medication in primary/secondary care.
Strong working knowledge of:
Stimulant/non-stimulant pharmacology
- Controlled drug legislation
Shared-care protocols
Experience responding to patient queries in remote and/or digital contexts
- Evidence of quality-focused, safe prescribing.
Desirable Experience
- Experience working directly with a pharmacy team.
- Clinical governance or QA portfolio experience.
- Familiarity with inspection preparation (CQC/GPhC).
- Audit experience.

Location Requirement
This position is on-site due to:
- Direct oversight of prescription printing/processing
