We are looking for a bright and bubbly Supervisor at The Longman of Wilmington in Patcham, Brighton.

The pub is part of the Golden Lion Group - a family-run local pub company with seven venues across the City.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our pub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for hospitality, ensuring that our guests receive exceptional service in a vibrant atmosphere. The Supervisor will be responsible for managing staff, maintaining high standards of food safety & standards, and supervising all aspects of bar operations to create a memorable experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the bar team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and company policies.
  • Provide high levels of customer service at all times
  • Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock while minimising waste.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure seamless service during busy periods.
  • Handle daily opening and closing routines including daily cash-ups.

Experience

  • Proven experience in a busy bar role within the hospitality or hotel industry is essential.
  • Ideally, strong leadership skills with a track record of effective team management and supervising staff.
  • Knowledge of food production processes and culinary practices is preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both guests and team members.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a bar setting is required.
  • A passion for creating unique guest experiences through innovative beverage offerings is preferred.
