Your Responsibilities
In line with the firm's strategy, the Finance department is developing and enhancing its capabilities. The team is modernising and standardising its financial systems and processes to ensure efficiency and scalability as the firm continues to grow.
This is an exciting time to be part of the firm's Finance department, and we expect new joiners to actively contribute to the development of the function.
Summary Of The Role
The role is based in London as part of the International Finance team. The role is responsible for assisting the Client Money Manager with Lockton's compliance with FCA CASS rules for entities regulated in the UK.
The position will help to ensure that Lockton has in place appropriate processes and controls to ensure CASS compliance and to identify, report and address client money related issues in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities Of The Role
- Assisting with review of weekly Client Money Calculations ("CMC") for all entities controlled from the UK.
- Assisting with logging and addressing CASS breaches in line with the relevant CASS regulations.
- Monitoring client money balances and assisting in identifying reasons for increases/decreases outside of known trends.
- Assisting with arranging and logging staff CASS training.
- Assisting with CASS audits for UK regulated entities, including liaising with other departments and offices to obtain required information and helping to prepare audit responses.
- Assisting with ongoing CASS improvement project to enhance and improve the firm's client money processes and controls. This includes all aspects of CASS including ToBAs, policies, processes, Funds at 3rd parties, Appointed Representatives among other areas.
- Working closely with other functions including IBA, Treasury and Compliance to ensure that an effective relationship is in place with these teams.
- Assisting Client Money Manager with systems investigations and CMC inputs.
- Keeping appraised of CASS rule/FCA appetite changes
- Assisting the Client Money Manager with day-to-day queries on an ad hoc basis.
Qualifications
Qualifications / Educational Requirements
- Strong academic background
- Good knowledge of insurance market processes and terminology
- Firm knowledge of FCA Client Money "CASS 5" regulations
Relevant Experience
- Preferably an insurance-based Finance background (Finance or IBA)
- Experience of CASS 5 rules and implementation
- Demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team
- Strong systems/MI experience preferred
