The Role
As Chief Data Protection Officer, you will lead Capco's global data protection strategy, ensuring we meet the highest standards of regulatory compliance, risk management, and information governance. You will guide the organisation in developing and maintaining robust data protection practices that safeguard our people, clients, and partners, while supporting innovation and responsible data use.
What You'll Do
- Lead Capco's Data Protection strategy, ensuring alignment with international privacy regulations across our operations in Europe, India APAC, Middle East and Americas.
- Oversee data governance frameworks, in alignment with parent group's (Wipro) overarching policies, to support secure, ethical, and compliant data handling across the business.
- Advise senior leadership and client teams on data protection risks, controls, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Legal, IT, Information Security and other leaders and teams to ensure data protection requirements are integrated into business processes and business contracts.
- Develop firm-wide policies, training, and guidance to strengthen awareness and accountability.
- Conduct regular Data Protection audits and privacy assessments to identify and mitigate privacy risks.
- Manage incident response and regulatory engagement activities, ensuring timely, accurate communication.
- Monitor and report on Data Protection compliance to senior management, Group and regulatory bodies.
- Report to the Capco Chief Admin Officer
What We're Looking For
Deep expertise in UK/EU GDPR, global privacy standards, and technology-driven compliance environments.
Strong experience advising senior stakeholders and shaping data governance at scale.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional risk, compliance, and data protection initiatives.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies (AI, Cloud, data platforms) and associated risk considerations.
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulation into clear actions.
- A strategic mindset, coupled with sound judgement in sensitive or high-impact situations.
Bonus Points For
- Experience operating in consulting, Financial Services, or other highly regulated industries.
- Any recognised data protection certifications (e.g., CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO).
- Experience in global data protection regulatory engagement.
- Background in enterprise risk leadership or operational resilience.
