We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Shopmobility Operative. This role is vital in helping people with mobility challenges access shops and services independently and with confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to Shopmobility users, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Assist customers with the loan and safe use of mobility equipment (e.g., scooters, wheelchairs).
  • Carry out basic maintenance checks and cleaning of equipment.
  • Handle bookings, returns, and customer records accurately.
  • Promote the service to potential users and provide information as needed.
  • Ensure the Shopmobility area is clean, safe, and well-organized.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and volunteers.
  • Follow health and safety procedures and report any issues promptly.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good basic IT skills for booking and record-keeping.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability and flexibility, especially for weekend shifts.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or care-related role is desirable but not essential.
  • Training will be provided.
