About EBA

Education Bridge for Afghanistan (EBA) is a UK-based charity dedicated to providing accredited online education to Afghanistani girls who have been denied access to learning. Through our innovative digital learning platform, we connect students with teachers, curriculum, and examinations recognised by UK awarding bodies. EBA's mission is to empower young Afghanistani women through education, hope, and opportunity.

About the Role

We are seeking a Head of Fundraising (Volunteer Role) to lead and coordinate EBA's fundraising strategy. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the sustainability and growth of EBA's educational programmes by developing relationships with donors, managing fundraising campaigns, and identifying new funding opportunities.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about education, gender equality, and international development, and who wants to make a tangible impact on the lives of young women in Afghanistan.

Key Responsibilities


• Develop and implement EBA's fundraising strategy aligned with our mission and goals.


• Identify, research, and approach potential donors, partners, and grant-making bodies.


• Coordinate online and offline fundraising campaigns.


• Support the preparation of proposals, donor reports, and funding applications.


• Build relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporate partners.


• Collaborate with the communications team to strengthen donor engagement and storytelling.


• Report regularly to the EBA leadership team on fundraising performance and opportunities.

Person Specification

Essential:


• Demonstrated experience in fundraising or business development within a charity, NGO, or social enterprise.


• Strong communication, networking, and organisational skills.


• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Desirable:


• Knowledge of Farsi (Persian/Dari) is an advantage but not required.


• Understanding of issues related to education, women's rights, and Afghanistan.


• Strategic mindset with creativity in donor engagement.

Commitment


• Flexible hours, estimated 4-5 hours per week.


• Remote work with regular online team meetings.
