The Service & Team
Our Parenting Team is passionate about supporting families through every stage of their parenting journey. We believe that parents and carers play a vital role in shaping their children's lives, and we're here to celebrate that role—while also offering a helping hand when challenges arise. Our team delivers a wide range of evidence-based programmes, both in person and online, designed to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and support child development. We work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure families can access the right support at the right time, and we're proud to foster welcoming, inclusive spaces where parents can connect, learn, and grow together.

The Role
There are two posts available, one full-time (37 hours) and one part-time (25.9 hours). These positions will cover the East of Cornwall.

As a Parenting Worker, you will deliver interactive evidence-based parenting support programmes both face-to-face and online, helping parents and carers build confidence and strengthen family relationships. You will work closely with multi-agency partners to promote and deliver Cornwall's support offer to families across the region.

This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

Working Pattern
There are two posts available, one full-time (37 hours) and one part-time (25.9 hours). The normal duties of the role may involve work outside normal office hours at times, including early starts and late finishes. A reasonable level of flexibility in order to fulfil the requirements of the role is a condition of employment

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong IT skills and comfort with online delivery platforms
  • A solid understanding of child development and the challenges families face
  • Experience working with families or in a community support setting is a plus
