Nursery Assistant – Full Time – Hampton
We are a small boutique nursery looking for a full time Nursery Assistant to join our family nursery. If you have existing childcare qualifications that is helpful but not essential but ideally you should have some experience with young children. If you are not qualified we will support you with additional training.
Our nursery focuses on strongly encouraging children to gain confidence and independence and developing this through unique and thoughtful learning experiences and using the outdoor environment wherever possible. Our planning includes core areas of art, music, cooking, science, the outdoors and parent partnership. We are looking for a Nursery Assistant to continue to embed this methodology within our day to day practice.
You will need to have a clean DBS (we will apply for this as part of the recruitment process) and satisfactory references. Please note we do not offer visa sponsorship.
We are offering a full-time position (a salary of between £26,000 and £27,000 per year) plus 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays, Birthday holiday and Christmas Eve holiday. We provide a pension plan scheme for employees, performance-based rewards, referral bonuses, staff social events and childcare discount (subject to availability).
The position is to start in December/January.

Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children in accordance with the curriculum
- Create a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Provide individualized attention and support to each child
- Observe and assess children's progress and communicate with parents or guardians
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to create a positive learning environment
- Maintain accurate records of children's attendance, progress, and behavior
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all children in your care
- Follow all policies and procedures set forth by the organization
Skills:
- Some knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices
- Communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans and activities
- Patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and be flexible in a dynamic work environment
- Knowledge of child health and safety regulations
