About the role:

The post holder will provide a high quality and efficient service, carrying out all aspects of electrical work in properties owned or rented in line with statutory requirements, customer expectations and organisational procedures.

You will be expected to:

• Carry out EICR Testing, LD2 compliance upgrades, repairs, installations of consumer units and associated work for internal and external customers and other buildings as instructed to a satisfactory standard.

• Undertake general electrical work, including maintenance, inspection and testing to occupied and void properties.

• Identify and record any defects found and report parts/work required promptly.

• Carry out work in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and current electrical regulations.

• Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

• Respond to any feedback communicated through quality control checks (audits) carried out internally or externally.

• Maintain vehicle in a clean condition and carry out required checks, report any defects found and keep vehicle records as required.

• Follow van stock and material ordering procedures.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and organisation procedures.

• Provide technical support to operatives and associated staff including apprentices.

• Ensure a customer focused approach is adopted in all aspects of the service.

• Undertake training, as necessary to maintain high standards in the quality of work provided. This will include 18th Edition and specialist equipment training.

• Carry out all duties electronically on tablet or smart phone provided, use of schedule of rates, detailing works carried out, variation of costs and materials and a thorough description of any other works or trades required.

• Carry out EICR Certificates electronically.

About you:

You must:

• Have detailed technical knowledge evidenced by a minimum of 2 years trade experience and a relevant NVQ Level 3 or a City & Guilds qualification (or equivalent). Minimum 17th edition electrical design and installation, 18th edition testing and inspection. Training will be provided to gain 18th Edition qualification.

• Have a competent knowledge of electrical appliances including fault diagnosis and rectification.

• Be able to compile written technical reports and associated follow up works and cost models.

• Have knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation including current electrical regulations.

• Be able to keep accurate records and in particular use a PDA.

• Be self-motivation with a desire to put the customer first.

• Have good IT skills for use on tablets or smart phones.

• Have a clean drivers license
