- Provide ongoing assessment of student progress, adapting lessons and strategies as needed to ensure all students are making measurable progress toward their learning goals.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver a coordinated approach to classroom management and student support, ensuring a calm and structured learning environment.
- Liaise with parents, carers, and external professionals to provide regular updates on student progress and to ensure that the needs of each child are fully supported both in school and at home.
- Attend regular training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay informed of the latest SEN teaching practices and strategies.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working in an SEN setting, ideally within a specialist SEN school.
- Proven ability to deliver a tailored curriculum that meets the individual needs of students with a wide range of complex needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SLD.
- Strong understanding of SEN teaching strategies, including experience in using sensory learning tools, visual aids, and assistive technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Patience, empathy, and creativity in adapting lessons to suit the unique learning styles of students with complex needs.
- A clear DBS check and the legal right to work within the UK.
