Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Groundworker / Pipelayer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining groundworks, installing drainage and utility pipelines, and supporting general site operations to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out all aspects of groundworks including excavation, concreting, kerbing, and reinstatement.
• Install, joint, and test drainage, ducting, and water mains (plastic, clay, and concrete pipe systems).
• Set out levels, line, and grade to ensure accurate pipe laying.
• Operate plant and tools safely (e.g., trenching equipment, compaction tools, and small plant machinery).
• Ensure all works comply with health and safety standards and company policies.
• Maintain a clean and organised work area.
• Work as part of a team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
• Assist with other general site duties as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Proven experience as a Groundworker and/or Pipelayer.
• Knowledge of drainage systems, trench support, and pipe laying techniques.
• Ability to interpret site drawings and levels.
• Valid CSCS card (essential).
• Additional qualifications such as CPCS / NPORS, Street Works (NRSWA),
• Strong awareness of site health and safety.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.

Pay: £22.00 per hour
