Junior Estimator

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting our organisation's budgeting and planning processes. Duties

• Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and scope
• Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing
• Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, equipment, and overheads
• Monitor project costs throughout the lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets
• Identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards
• Prepare tender submissions and assist in bid presentations
• Maintain organised records of all estimates, quotations, and related documentation for future reference

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry
• Strong understanding of project management principles and construction processes
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
• Knowledge of cost control techniques and budget management practices
• Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
• Organised with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in all work undertaken
