HGV Class 1 Driver Position

We are seeking a reliable and flexible individual to join our team as an HGV Class 1 Driver, with the ability to operate a wagon and drag vehicle. The role will primarily involve driving duties but may also include assisting with yard work during quieter periods. We're looking for someone who isn't afraid of manual work and is committed to helping the team succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate lorries in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Transport goods to various locations, ensuring timely delivery according to schedule.
  • Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while on the road and at delivery sites.
  • Carry out occasional nights out when required (not a regular occurrence).
  • Be available to work bank holidays if needed (at an increased rate, with a day in lieu).
  • Assist with yard work during quieter periods to support the wider team.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with forklifts and electric pallet trucks is advantageous but not essential.
  • A willingness to engage in manual labour when necessary.
