Job Vacancy: Vehicle Mechanic

Location: Peel Common Showroom, Fareham

Contract Type: Full-time

Hours: 40 hours per week

About Us

Peel Common Showroom in Fareham is a busy, customer-focused used car dealership. We pride ourselves on providing quality vehicles and excellent service. We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to join our team, primarily focusing on MOTs, repairs, and servicing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on a range of vehicles
  • Diagnose and repair vehicle faults using diagnostic tools and software
  • Conduct safety and quality checks to ensure vehicles meet standards before delivery
  • Drive vehicles to and from the MOT station when required
  • Assist with general vehicle preparation for sales and auctions
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
  • Record work accurately and provide reports on repairs and servicing

Requirements

  • Relevant automotive qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent preferred)
  • Experience in MOTs, repairs, and vehicle servicing
  • Confident using diagnostic tools and software
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, engines, brakes, and electronics
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Professional, reliable, and team-oriented
  • Ability to work efficiently on a variety of vehicles and tasks
