Are you the one who can keep our buildings — and our people — safe?

We're on the lookout for a skilled and proactive Building Services Testing Officer to join our team. In this role, you'll be the go-to person for testing, inspecting, and maintaining PA Housing's fire safety systems and building services equipment. From fire alarms to emergency lighting, you'll make sure our homes and buildings are safe, compliant, and working exactly as they should.

This role will be primarily onsite and the area you will be covering is mainly South East London with a bit of South West and Croydon. So it's essential you are comfortable driving a van round London.

This isn't just a job — it's about protecting lives and ensuring residents feel safe where they live.

What's in it for you….

In addition to the salary, we offer a number of benefits, including:

  • High street discount schemes
  • Health cash plans
  • 26 days' annual leave, increasing to 29 after three years, with the opportunity to buy more
  • Flexible bank holidays – take them when it suits you
  • Car leasing scheme

What you'll be doing……

  • Carrying out regular testing, servicing, and inspection of fire safety systems and building services equipment (e.g. fire alarms, emergency lighting, AOVs, extinguishers, lifts, and more)
  • Recording outcomes on our asset management system (Keystone) using mobile devices
  • Reporting faults, malfunctions, or safety issues found during inspections
  • Raising urgent orders and repairs where required
  • Working with the wider Building Services team to improve consistency and share best practice

What we're looking for:

  • Strong knowledge of fire safety measures and active fire safety systems
  • Good technical knowledge of building services equipment, electrical systems, and maintenance
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements in building services
  • Hands-on experience with servicing and maintaining fire alarms, detection systems, and emergency equipment

Qualifications (desirable):

  • ICEL Advanced maintenance & operation in emergency lighting
  • ICEL Emergency lighting foundation & design
  • FIA Unit 1 Fire detection & design
  • FIA Unit 5 Fire alarm maintenance
  • Servicing & maintenance of portable fire extinguishers
  • FIA Unit 4 Installation & testing of fire alarms
  • FIA Electrical competency
  • NICEIC Safe isolation workshop
  • NICEIC Electrical accessory replacement

If you've got the expertise and passion to keep our buildings safe, we'd love to hear from you. Don't forget to upload your qualifications with your application to show us you've got what it takes
