About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced People Advisor to join a growing organisation operating across the UK and Ireland. Based in Devonport, you'll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, proactive HR service, supporting employees and managers both onsite and remotely.

In this generalist role, you'll provide trusted advice on all areas of HR and employment relations, helping to ensure a positive, compliant, and people-focused workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
  • Manage employee relations cases, including performance, capability, disciplinary, and grievance matters.
  • Act as the first point of contact for HR queries related to pay, benefits, contracts, and conditions of employment.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, including restructures, redeployments, redundancies, and TUPE transfers.
  • Lead on absence management cases, ensuring effective and timely resolutions.
  • Assist with immigration and right-to-work compliance requirements.
  • Prepare and support documentation for Employment Tribunals when required.
  • Conduct exit interviews and use insights to inform continuous improvement.
  • Provide support on compensation and benefits processes, including data collation for renewals and claims.
  • Participate in HR projects and site visits across the UK and offshore locations as needed.
About You

Qualifications:

  • CIPD membership (or equivalent experience in a generalist HR role) is essential.

Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a generalist HR or People Advisor position is required.
  • Experience in a unionised environment (onshore or offshore) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Working Rule Agreements would be advantageous.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and coaching skills.
  • Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Confident managing a varied workload with competing priorities.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
