Job Title: After School & Holiday Club Team Leader

Employer: Invicta Community and Leisure

Location: Herne Infant School (term time) and Invicta sites in Faversham & Aylesham (school holidays)

Hours: 22-30 hours per week

  • Term time: 2:00pm – 6:15pm, Monday to Friday, plus weekly admin shift
  • School holidays: 8.30-4pm x 4 days , leading our holiday club provision

About the Role

Invicta Community and Leisure is seeking a passionate and organised After School & Holiday Club Team Leader to oversee our after school provision at Herne Infant School during term time and lead our school holiday clubs at our other sites in Faversham or Aylesham.

This role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to children's learning, wellbeing, and development by delivering high-quality, engaging activities in a fun and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be creative, confident in leading a small team, and committed to providing safe, inclusive, and stimulating experiences for all children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, lead, and deliver fun and engaging sessions that support children's development within the EYFS framework and early Key Stage 1.
  • Create a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where every child feels valued.
  • Plan, prepare, and serve healthy snacks and light meals, following food hygiene and dietary requirements.
  • Manage daily operations including registers, attendance records, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain excellent communication with parents and carers, sharing updates on children's experiences and wellbeing.
  • Supervise and support playworkers, ensuring high standards of care and practice.
  • Lead and deliver a varied and exciting programme of activities during school holidays at Invicta's Faversham and Aylesham sites.
  • Uphold safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety standards in all settings.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of Invicta's out-of-school provision.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Experience working with children in a childcare, playwork, or educational environment.
  • Understanding of EYFS principles and child development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong organisational ability, with attention to detail in planning and administration.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Willingness to travel between Invicta sites (Herne, Faversham, Aylesham).
  • Commitment to providing high-quality childcare and enriching play opportunities.

Desirable:

  • Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, or a related discipline.
  • Paediatric First Aid and Food Hygiene certificates.
  • Experience in leading a team or managing a childcare setting.
  • Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel independently between sites).
