Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and experienced 2nd Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with Macc standards.
- Oversee food safety practices, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage to minimise waste.
- Collaborate with management to develop menus that reflect current trends and customer preferences.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to uphold high standards.
- Train new team members in food preparation techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards.
- Maintain a positive working environment that promotes teamwork and professional growth.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, cooking, and kitchen management within a care home setting.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Leadership qualities with a focus on team management and development.
- Competence in food preparation techniques across various cuisines.
- Experience in hospitality service including serving customers when required.
