What's it like working for Bury MHST?

At Bury MHST, staff wellbeing is a top priority. Team members are encouraged to make a wellbeing pledge, and we offer daily wellbeing check-ins. Manager drop-ins are available every day, providing support beyond formal supervision.

This commitment to wellbeing is reflected in the feedback from our team members. One team member shared, "The team is super supportive if you need any help." Another described the team as a safe space where they are not worried about being judged and can be themselves. They emphasised the non-judgmental, caring, and compassionate environment, stating, "Why would I want to work anywhere else?"

The team was proud to be runner-up for Team of the Year at the 2024 Pennine Care Award.

Bury MHST operates as a hybrid team. While there is a desk available at Bury CAMHS for printing and admin, staff can also use facilities at other PCFT locations. The team does not have a shared office and are based in schools four days per week. For admin, supervision, or team meetings, staff can typically work from a location of their choice, such as home or a PCFT venue. We do have three away days per year and other face to face opportunities.

Despite the challenges of not being physically together, we have successfully built a positive culture through online and other means, which one member of the team described it working "like magic."
