This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with an interest in older adult rehabilitation to join a high-quality ward therapy team, supporting patients to regain independence and return home safely.

Based mainly at St Mark's Hospital, Maidenhead, with some cross-cover at Upton Hospital, Slough, you'll join a close-knit inpatient team of OTs, physios and therapy assistants. You'll manage a varied caseload of adults with complex needs and gain valuable experience in a dynamic MDT where learning and development are actively supported.

Day to day, you'll be:

Assessing patients and creating personalised rehab plans

Supporting or running groups such as falls prevention and exercise

Working closely with patients, families and the wider MDT

Supporting therapy assistants and supervising students

Joining ward rounds, case conferences and discharge planning

The post will be part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team within an inpatient setting which will offer assessment and treatment for patients in the east of Berkshire.

To provide supervision guidance to band 3 and 4 support workers in the therapy team. To make recommendations to the wider MDT and to support with education of students.

To identify service developments, needs, contribute to the planning, development and evaluation of the service and have responsibility for defined projects.

To be responsible for a complex caseload using an interdisciplinary, patient focused rehabilitative approach with support from the senior therapists.

The "must haves" for this role:

Qualified (or about to qualify) Occupational Therapist with HCPC registration

A passion for working in a rehabilitation or intermediate care setting

UK driving licence with access to a vehicle or equivalent ability to travel effectively.

Willingness to participate in a 6-day rota.
