ARRA Distribution are seeking to recruit a 4on / 4off Night Transport Planner, for it's operation in Cross Hands, South Wales.

Responsible for a broad range of activities that contribute to the accurate production of the daily transport plan for the depot. Responsibilities include Customer/Supplier liaison, updating and manipulating current standard plan to reflect fluctuations in daily volumes.

Role Requirements:

Ø Overseeing the night team operation and despatching drivers on time.

Ø Assisting with the planning and implementation of strategic depot change.

Ø Collating collection and delivery information using bespoke TMS.

Ø Creating collection plans to inform suppliers of loading requirements in a timely manner.

Ø Maintaining depot standard plan information.

Ø Formulating and communicating accurate depot transport plan for the next day's operation.

Ø Collating information on daily fleet empty running.

Ø Customer/Supplier/Subcontractor management at a number of levels to ensure that key information is communicated, and the daily plans are achieved.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Ø Previous experience in a distribution, operations or planning function.

Ø Effective interpersonal and clear communication skills

Ø Excellent telephone manner.

Ø Accurate and efficient keyboard skills.

Ø High attention to detail and conscientious so that work is completed accurately and on time.

Ø Excellent team working skills.

Ø Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Ø Ability to think logically and flexibly to ensure that the plan minimises cost yet maximises the service to the customer.

Ø Works quickly and accurately to produce clear and effective plans.

Ø Possesses a sense of urgency and works diligently to achieve timelines.

Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Food Safety – Understands, encourages and complies with company/site safety policies and procedures; completes all required training and takes personal responsibility for the safety of themselves and others.

Knowledge and Experience required:

Ø Working knowledge of transport/driver hours and regulations.

Ø Working geographical knowledge of the country and the motorway network.

Ø Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Power point and Outlook.

Ø A logical thinker who is able to produce variations to the standard plan that make better use of depot resources.

Ø Mature approach, pragmatic, tenacious with attention to detail.

Ø Assertive, can do, makes things happen attitude.

Ø Flexible and adaptable to evolving business needs.

Ø Able to multi-task.

Ø Effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £32,500.00 per year
