About Us

We are a dedicated and compassionate children's residential home providing care and support to vulnerable young people with complex needs. Our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where children can thrive and achieve their potential. We are opening our second provision and are looking to have the home open come the new year. We are now seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and caring residential support worker to join our dynamic team and work alongside the registered manager to reach the full potential of the home.

Role Overview

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day care and support of the children living in our home. You will work alongside a dedicated team to create a stable, caring, and supportive environment where each young person can thrive. Your role will involve building positive relationships, offering emotional support, and helping young people develop practical life skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

  • Build trusting relationships with the young people, helping them navigate challenges and develop positive behaviours.

  • Assist with daily activities, including education, leisure, and household tasks.

  • Promote the emotional and social development of children through engagement, encouragement, and support.

  • Implement individual care plans and work in partnership with external agencies, including schools, social services, and health professionals.

  • Safeguard the welfare of young people and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures.

  • Accurately record daily logs, reports, and observations regarding the progress and needs of the children.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or social care setting is desirable but not essential (full training will be provided).

  • A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach to supporting children with complex needs.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children and colleagues.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights, bank holidays and weekends.

  • Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce (or willingness to work towards this qualification).

  • Basic understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health & safety.
