Your New Role...
Warner Bros Discovery are seeking a strategic, results-driven Programmatic Manager to lead our Programmatic team for our streaming properties (Discovery+ & HBO MAX) for both the UK & International business. This role will serve as the subject matter expert, providing both strategic and operational guidance across all stages of the programmatic sales cycle. You will partner closely with Ad Sales and cross-functional teams to drive revenue growth and deliver best-in-class solutions for our clients and partners.
You will bring a combination of analytical acumen and strategic foresight, with a passion for innovation and excellence. This role requires a proactive leader who can challenge the status quo, drive operational efficiency, and act as a subject matter expert within a complex organizational environment.
Your Role Accountabilities...
- Lead the programmatic function, providing strategic oversight and daily management of operations, partnerships, and platforms.
- Own the end-to-end campaign lifecycle, including PMP and PG campaign setup, monitoring, optimization, and post-campaign analysis.
- Work closely with the Ad Sales teams in the UK, Multi-Market international and regional to drive programmatic revenue and uncover new monetization opportunities.
- Manage revenue forecasting and partner billing processes; provide regular reporting to senior management.
- Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with technology partners, identifying efficiencies, innovations, and growth opportunities.
- Provide sales and planning teams with actionable insights on bidding trends, audience behaviours, and platform performance to support deal planning.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all programmatic and data-driven advertising initiatives and serve as the central point of contact for programmatic strategy and execution across internal business units.
- Drive continuous process improvement, automation, and innovation to elevate team performance and operational efficiency.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team; define KPIs and growth paths to support team development and long-term success.
- Manage curated marketplace channels to ensure partner engagement and performance.
- Work closely with Trading and their media agencies to continuously optimize and provide strategic direction to drive programmatic revenues.
Qualifications and Experience...
- Proven experience in digital advertising, ad tech, or media, with a strong focus on programmatic platforms and data strategy.
- Experience managing teams, with a proven track record of building and developing talent.
- Deep hands-on expertise in programmatic buying/selling and familiarity with 1st-party data strategies.
- Proficient in ad tech platforms and tools, including Freewheel, DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, and OMS.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Deep technical understanding of the nuance of programmatic for streaming
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of media sales ecosystems, terminology, and campaign management processes.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
