About Us:

First Strokes Swim Schools Limited is an award-winning swim school, operating from four locations and offering a range of swimming lessons and teaching. Our purpose-built teaching pools, along with private pools, ensure a high-quality learning experience for swimmers of all ages and abilities. As we continue to invest in our facilities and team, we are seeking passionate ASA Level 2 and Level 1 Swimming Teachers to join our Stanway Centre.

The Role:

As a Swimming Teacher at First Strokes Swim Schools, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to swimmers of all ages, from babies to adults, either in a group or one-to-one setting. You will apply your expertise in swimming practices, progression, and teaching techniques to ensure continuous learning and development. While there will be some administrative tasks, the majority of your time will be spent teaching and coaching, helping our swimmers improve their skills and become stronger in the water.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver swimming lessons to individuals and groups of varying skill levels.
  • Ensure that swimmers progress effectively and develop vital water safety skills.
  • Utilise First Strokes' unique awards system to track and encourage student development.
  • Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Participate in additional crash courses during school holidays.
  • Provide excellent customer service to both swimmers and their families.
  • Undertake any necessary administrative duties related to lesson planning and feedback.

Shift Availability: With the potential of more hours in the coming months

  • Zero Hours
  • Sunday: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

There is also the opportunity for additional hours and cover shifts as required.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • ASA Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification (desirable) or ASA Level 1 Swimming Teacher qualification (minimum requirement) or the STA equivalent.
  • A current Rescue Test or National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills, with the ability to work with swimmers of all ages and abilities.
  • Passion for swimming and teaching others to improve their skills.
