We have an exciting opportunity for a Sexual Health Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed category women's Prison and Young Offenders Institution, located in the village of Foston in Derbyshire, England.

Hours

30 hours a week working on a rota basis, Monday to Friday 8am-4pm (flexible).

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £58,012 per annum FTE - depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

As a Sexual Health Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Lead on promotion, assessment, and co-ordinating treatment for patients in all aspects of sexual health (plus contraception within female estate).
  • Ensure effective and consistent recognition of STI's, symptomatic and asymptomatic screening, taking samples and managing laboratory pathways.
    Co-ordinate all clinical activity in relation to sexual health and where applicable contraception, conduct STI screening.

Qualifications required

  • Registered Adult Nurse with current registration with NMC
  • Demonstrate a passion for working in sexual health services
  • Evidence of post registration CPD
  • Able to work autonomously as a registered professional by on-going assessment, planning, management and evaluation of care following best practice guidance

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
