Description In this dynamic role, you'll play a key part in shaping the student finance experience. Working closely with the Student Finance Manager, you'll help manage student and external customer accounts, drive improvements in financial systems and processes, and support fee and credit control operations within the Student Fees Team.

You'll collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to ensure service excellence, take the lead on Educational Partner reporting, and contribute to strategic discussions by representing Finance on committees and working groups. About the Role In this role, you will assist the Student Finance Manager in managing student and external customer accounts, ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures. You'll contribute to process improvement and system optimisation initiatives, collaborate with key stakeholders across Finance, Educational Partners, Schools, and Professional Services, and deliver critical debt reporting. 

The role also involves coordinating the student withdrawal process and, when required, deputising for the Student Finance Manager and representing the Finance function on committees and working groups. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in enhancing financial operations and student experience within a dynamic university environment.

About You
  • Part -qualified accountant (AAT or other Accounting Body) or educated to degree level or equivalent experience, or demonstrable experience of working within a financial accounts receivable environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent IT skills including Microsoft 365, Word, Excel, and database and bespoke finance systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading a customer focused service.
  • Demonstrable excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Credit control experience
  • Understanding of the Higher Education environment, including variable tuition fees and funding schemes.
  • Reconciliation experience
  • Preparing report data
  • Experience in reviewing processes and procedures.

Additional Information
Salary Grade 6 - Starting from £33,951  rising to £37,694 per annum

The salary range shows the potential maximum pay progression in addition to any annual inflationary increase to your pay. Please note that our default position is to appoint into the lower end of the range, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

This post is for 37 hours per week. Occasional weekend working will be required during the year for which appropriate conditions of service will apply.
