Job Summary

e are looking for an experienced Estimator to join our team supporting the AMP8 Water Framework on a long-term, Outside IR35 contract. THE ROLE CAN BE FULLY REMOTE IF NEEDED.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the cost estimating and tendering process for a portfolio of clean and wastewater infrastructure projects. Working closely with delivery, design, and commercial teams, you will ensure that accurate, competitive, and robust cost estimates are developed in line with framework and client expectations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing project costs, preparing accurate estimates, and supporting the overall budgeting process. This role is essential in ensuring competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards and controlling costs across various projects. The ideal applicant will possess strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and experience in cost control within a relevant industry.

Duties

  • Analyse project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare precise cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to gather relevant pricing information.
  • Develop detailed cost breakdowns for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
  • Monitor and control project costs throughout the bidding process and project execution stages.
  • Prepare tender documents and submit comprehensive proposals within designated deadlines.
  • Review and update estimates based on project changes or new information received.
  • Assist in analysing bid outcomes and provide recommendations for future projects.
  • Support the procurement team by providing cost insights and budget forecasts.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Estimator or in a similar role within the construction, manufacturing, or engineering sectors.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles and techniques.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction management, engineering, or related fields are advantageous but not essential. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to project success through accurate costing and effective cost management strategies.
