Worcester, Worcestershire, United Kingdom Kaizen Talent Solutions Full time

Kaizen is recruiting a Maintenance Manager for an international food manufacturer and leader in its sector across Europe. The business is tremendously successful, profitable and continues to grow at a rapid pace.

Their food manufacturing plant in the heart of Worcestershire is ambitious, growing fast and is investing in their people and their facility. Having invested over £15m in recent years on new equipment and automation, they continue to increase factory capacity to cope with demand. They have created a new position of Maintenance Manager to lead a cultural change programme, instilling an improvement mindset and a best-in-class preventative maintenance culture.

Job Description

It is an exciting time to join and a real opportunity to make a mark. Reporting into the General Manager, and as a part of the plant Senior Management team, you will lead and develop the Maintenance function to ensure asset reliability, product quality, and compliance in a 24/7 food manufacturing environment.

Through effective use of Best Practice Maintenance tools, SAP PM, and team leadership, you will deliver safe, efficient, and continuous production supporting site performance goals. You will have a pragmatic approach in the field to follow up on work execution and collaborative, professional cooperation with colleague management both at plant and group level.

You will have the opportunity to provide the vision, to coach, mentor and ultimately develop your team in maintenance engineering techniques and performance management, with the aim of creating a world class preventative maintenance culture.

What we are looking for:

You are an experienced manager who has a proven ability in leading successful maintenance teams in 24/7 FMCG or Processing manufacturing environments (experience in the food sector is a bonus but not a necessity).

Here's a few things that we see as critical for someone to be successful in the role:

  • A track record in implementing preventative and predictive maintenance and a Continuous Improvement culture.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and root cause analysis tools.
  • Strong numeracy and cost control awareness.
  • Outstanding communication and influencing skills - a team builder and collaborator across departments.
  • Positive can-do attitude with drive and tenacity to follow actions through.
  • Excels in managing OEE, PPM schedules, manpower planning and improving KPIs.
  • Experience using SAP PM or equivalent CMMS.

What's in it for you?

Our client is an innovative, forward-looking business that continues to make significant investment in the Worcestershire facility, allowing it to grow and securing its future. They believe in inspiring their people and encourage personal development and growth. They know that good people need challenge and variety, and they're big enough to offer you enough challenges to last an entire career. They are always changing, growing and questioning, which is why so many people stay with them for so long.
