About Kev's Class

From our beginnings in Kev's living room to a thriving centre with over a hundred families, Kev's Class has grown into a close and supportive community where learning feels joyful and meaningful. Our focus goes far beyond academics; we help children feel capable, proud and ready to take on anything.

About the Role

We're looking for a vibrant, passionate and reliable tutor to join our growing team and take over students from an outgoing tutor. You'll step straight into established groups, supported by our team, resources and the Kev's Class Confidence-First Curriculum. The confirmed weekday shifts listed below are fixed and not open to change, and we will only consider applicants who can attend every required shift consistently. This is a long-term position for someone who can grow with our students and our community, offering stability and warmth. You'll also receive paid planning and feedback time for every session, ensuring you have the support and preparation time needed to do your best work.

Hours:

Monday: 4:00 PM – 7:30 PM

Tuesday: 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Wednesday: 4:15 PM – 7:45 PM

Thursday: 4:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Plus, potential to open a Saturday or Sunday shift between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM (hours to be agreed).

Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, confidence-centred lessons in English and Maths for children aged 5+. Plan and teach using the Kev's Class Curriculum and resources. Track both academic and confidence growth through our systems. Provide verbal feedback to parents after sessions and written session notes. Build strong, positive relationships with children and families. Collaborate with the wider team, share insights and contribute to the creative life of Kev's Class.

Who You Are

You believe confidence is the foundation for learning and love helping children realise their potential. You bring energy, creativity and reliability to your work and thrive in a positive, team-focused environment.

Essential:

  • A
    degree in Education, Teaching or a related field
  • At least
    3 years of tutoring, classroom experience or working with children
  • Strong knowledge of the
    Scottish Curriculum for Excellence
    in Maths and English up to National 5 Level
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence with digital tools and lesson management systems
  • The
    right to work in the UK
  • Ability to
    commit long-term
    to all required shifts (Monday to Thursday fixed)
  • Availability to
    start immediately

Desirable:

  • Experience teaching small groups
  • Interest in confidence-based or creative learning
  • Happy to contribute to our social media presence in videos
  • Interested in taking on extra hours for camps and retreats during school holiday periods
