Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in container haulage and will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of containers. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency, ensuring that all deliveries are completed in accordance with company policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate skeletal trailers to transport containers to various locations.
  • Ensure the secure loading and unloading of containers, adhering to safety protocols.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good and legal working condition.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation as required.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
  • Follow all traffic laws and regulations while driving, promoting a safe driving environment.
  • Assist in the planning of routes to optimise delivery times.

Requirements

  • Valid class 1 driving licence (C+E or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience as a delivery driver, particularly with skeletal trailers, is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of road safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours as required by delivery schedules.
