Advanced Physiotherapist

To be the clinical physiotherapist for the oncology patients within the regional paediatric oncology unit. To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment and treatment to this complex patient group and their families/carers To provide a service specifically to patients with Osteosarcoma, Neuro-oncology conditions and peripheral neuropathies bridging the gap between acute and community for patients receiving on going treatment and adding to the existing physiotherapy provision for the unit To provide out patient physiotherapy support for these patients in clinics and on the day unit To provide an advisory service to patients, their families, physiotherapists, consultants, nursing staff and other health care professionals in tertiary and secondary care, both locally and regionally. To develop and provide specialist education and training to nursing, medical and physiotherapy staff and other members of the MDT in order to optimise each patients outcome.
