Home Helper

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate home helper to provide essential support to an elderly couple around their home. One of the couple has dementia and the other is fully able, but needs support to help with general tasks around the house. This role involves cleaning/laundry/walking the dog/general tasks in the couples' well presented home in Accrington.

The job is on a part time basis; ideally a Monday morning for 4 hours (9.30am-12.30pm)

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they work for, have a strong worth ethic, have the ability to multi-task, be empathetic, trustworthy and reliable with a friendly and caring nature.

Responsibilities

• General cleaning duties - lounge/kitchen/bathroom/bedrooms/laundry/dog walk (20 minutes)
• Support clients with ad-hoc tasks and support to help them to maintain their independence
• Offer companionship through conversation/cups of tea/general warm and friendly communication

Experience

• Previous experience in caregiving/cleaning/home help or a related field is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
• Up to date DRB required
• Experience in assisted living environments is beneficial
• A genuine passion for providing care and support to individuals is essential
