Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Surveyor/Estimator to join our team. Based in Fleet, Hampshire, the successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, tender returns and attending site surveys. Regular travel to project sites will be required to support site assessments and accurate cost reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for construction projects.
  • Conduct site surveys and measurements to support accurate cost planning.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and documentation to produce Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to source pricing and negotiate terms.
  • Complete a buying plan for handover to delivery team
  • Arrange for any specialist Contractors/Suppliers to undertake our PQQ.
  • Evaluate variations and claims and provide detailed valuations to PM.
  • Offer Value Engineering options and advice where possible.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, in house engineers, and the Bid team.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Surveyor, Estimator, or Quantity Surveyor in the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and materials.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to project sites.
  • Ability to gain SC Clearance for a number of key clients.

Desirable

  • Experience of Security cleared sites
  • Familiarity with portal submissions
  • Ability to participate in project interviews and other high level meetings
  • Site-based experience from a trade background.
