Liverpool, Liverpool, United Kingdom Pearls Project Full time £15,000 - £25,000 per year

Support Pearls Project with IT systems and digital marketing. Help our small team stay organised, support to set up workable IT systems, improve communication, and share about our work in an ethical and sensitive way.

What difference will you make?

Behind the scenes, efficient IT systems and strong digital communication are essential to how we work and grow. By volunteering your expertise, you will help us

  • Strengthen our internal systems and improve how we manage information
  • Enhance communication across our team and partner organisations
  • Build a confident, values-led online presence
  • Share stories of our work with women to increase awareness, team and resources.
  • Attract volunteers, supporters, and funding opportunities
  • Ensure our work remains secure, efficient, and sustainable

Your support will make a tangible difference to a small but dedicated team working to ensure women feel seen, valued, and connected. You'll be helping us grow our reach, improve how we work and enabling us to do more work with women through having specialist support within these areas.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for a volunteer who combines technical skill with empathy, integrity, and a strong ethical approach. The ideal person will bring experience in IT systems and/or digital marketing, and will be motivated by supporting a small team that works with women affected by trauma, sex work, and substance use.

Personal qualities

  • Trauma-informed and safeguarding-aware, with sensitivity to the experiences of women we support
  • Works ethically and respectfully, protecting privacy and confidentiality at all times
  • Understands the importance of consent and representation when sharing stories or images
  • Not motivated by collecting women's personal stories, but instead solution-focused in finding creative, safe ways to share our impact and increase reach
  • Reliable, organised, and able to work independently within agreed boundaries
  • Positive, flexible, and collaborative, with good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated by purpose and social impact, not publicity or profile

Experience And Knowledge
We welcome volunteers from a range of professional or voluntary backgrounds. The most useful experience would include one or more of the following

  • IT support or systems administration (e.g. Google Workspace, shared drives, online forms, or data organisation)
  • Digital marketing or communications, including social media management, content creation, or design
  • Website maintenance or updates using simple content management systems
  • Data protection, confidentiality, and safe information handling
  • General admin or project support, ideally in a small team or charity setting

You don't need to be an expert in everything — we're looking for someone who is thoughtful, practical, and keen to make a positive contribution. We'll provide an induction, guidance around our trauma-informed approach, and ongoing support to ensure you feel confident and connected in the role.

This is a meaningful opportunity to use your skills to strengthen the way we work, communicate, and grow — helping ensure our support for women is sustainable, safe, and ethically grounded.

What will you be doing?

We're looking for a volunteer with IT and/or digital marketing skills to help Pearls Project strengthen how we work behind the scenes and how we communicate our impact publicly. This is a flexible, rewarding opportunity to use your skills to support women affected by trauma, sex work, and substance use.

You'll be part of a small, friendly team that values inclusion, respect, and collaboration. Depending on your interests and experience, your role may include

  • Improving or maintaining shared IT systems (e.g. shared drives, forms, data storage)
  • Supporting simple admin or tech processes that keep our work running smoothly
  • Helping update or manage our website
  • Supporting our social media presence with posts, visuals, and stories
  • Creating short, sensitive content that reflects our values and promotes engagement
  • Offering advice on digital tools, data protection, or online visibility
  • Contributing to digital storytelling through photos, quotes, and graphics

The role is flexible and can be adapted around your skills and availability. Most tasks can be done remotely, with optional in-person meetings if local.
