1:1 SEND Support Assistant – Hornsey, Haringey – September 2025 Start


We work with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Haringey rated Outstanding in its most recent Ofsted inspection. The school is grounded in an ethos of "every voice matters", championing inclusion, ambition and community. Its curriculum is broad and balanced, with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and enrichment through the arts, sport and environmental learning. 1:1 SEND Support Assistant – What the School Offers

• Bespoke induction, mentoring and coaching for support staff

• Ongoing CPD in SEND strategies, behaviour approaches and inclusive practice

• A culture of supportive behaviour systems and well-defined behaviour policy

• Collaborative, multidisciplinary team ethos—frequent planning and review time

• Clear pathways to teacher training, extended contracts or internal progression

1:1 SEND Support Assistant – What the Role Involves

• Providing 1:1 or small-group support for children with SEND (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH)

• Working closely with class teachers and the SENCo to adapt and scaffold learning

• Delivering targeted interventions and behaviour strategies

• Monitoring pupils' progress, reporting and contributing to reviews or EHCP meetings

• Supporting positive behaviour, self-regulation and independence in learning

1:1 SEND Support Assistant – What the School Is Looking For
We are seeking a proactive, compassionate and committed individual who brings:

• A 2:1 or First Class degree from a top-30 UK university

• Previous child-centred experience (volunteering, tutoring, support work, classroom)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A growth mindset, willingness to learn and reflect

• The ability to build rapport, show patience, and maintain consistency

Salary and Contract Info

• £444-£550 per week, pro rata (term-time only)

• Full-time, long-term (September–July), term-time only contract

• Potential for future teacher training or extended contracts following a successful placement
