Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced skilled Contract Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and management of projects related to passive fire protection. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project and contract management, ideally but not essential, with specific experience in the passive fire services sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
- Manage contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve contract modifications, change orders, and claims.
- Establish and maintain relationships with all parties, key stakeholders to deliver contract completion and resolve disputes.
- Conduct regular contract reviews and audits to ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions.
Project Management:
- Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project alignment and communication.
- Monitor project progress, adjust plans as necessary, and report on project status to senior management.
Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant fire safety regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Implement quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies related to project execution and contract performance.
Financial Management:
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and reports.
- Monitor project expenses and ensure effective cost control measures are in place.
- Collaborate with the finance team to track contract payments and resolve any financial discrepancies.
Team Leadership:
- Mentor and support project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Qualifications and experience:
o Professional Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND/Degree/Diploma) or equivalent
o Previous experience of construction/retrofit or fabric upgrades are preferred, however not essential.
o Previous experience in project and contract management, preferably in the passive fire services or construction industry.
o Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
o Ability to demonstrate a good knowledge of monthly reporting.
o Excellent team player whilst also holding the ability to work independently on own initiative.
o Excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines.
o Strong IT skills, particularly Excel
o Good written and verbal communication skills and manner.
o Attention to detail.
o Friendly and professional manner.
o Ability to handle pressure and good time-management.
o Ability to be flexible and adapt to change and work effectively as part of a team.
o Good organisational skills in being able to multi-task and re-prioritise at frequent intervals.
o Full clean driving licence.
