Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. Under new ownership and management, the hotel is entering a fresh phase of development, and we are looking for people who want to be part of this positive journey. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment, ensuring all food safety standards are met. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to develop their culinary skills within a professional setting. The ideal candidate will be organised, efficient, and committed to delivering exceptional service to our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service hours
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor ingredients and supplies, notifying management when stock levels are low
- Ensure all food is presented attractively and served at the appropriate temperature
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service
- Assist with cleaning and sanitising kitchen equipment and workstations at the end of each shift
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques and culinary principles
- Previous experience working in a busy restaurant or catering setting is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
- A genuine passion for food and delivering exceptional dining experiences
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
