Job Summary
The Residential Care Worker plays a key role in delivering high standards of care and support to children and young people living in our home. The role ensures each young person receives 1:1 support from a dedicated adult each day, with a strong emphasis on therapeutic, trauma-informed practice.
Children's wishes and feelings are at the core of our work and our ethos is focussed on finding solutions and ways to achieve things, overcoming any hurdles we may face.
We recognise the demands that the role can place on our team and have high levels of support and training place, including access to individual and group support from clinical psychologists.
Duties
Provide high-quality, consistent care and supervision to young people.
Support children with daily routines, emotional regulation, and independence.
Ensure accurate recording of daily logs, incidents, and care plans.
Promote a safe, nurturing, and structured environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
Engage children in activities and educational opportunities.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children is highly desirable.
- Proven experience in residential settings for children is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with children, their families and their professional networks effectively.
- A valid driving licence is advantageous.
- Basic IT proficiency is necessary for managing documentation and schedules efficiently.
