Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to oversee the daily operations of our bar. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and creating a welcoming environment for guests. The successful applicant will play a key role in managing the bar's operations efficiently while delivering exceptional experiences to patrons.

Duties

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of bar staff, including bartenders and serving personnel
  • Oversee food preparation and ensure quality standards are maintained in line with restaurant or hotel expectations
  • Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of beverages and ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health & safety standards
  • Lead the organisation of events or special promotions within the bar area
  • Monitor customer service to guarantee guests receive attentive and professional treatment
  • Train new staff members in service procedures, food safety, and hospitality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area at all times
  • Assist in menu planning, including beverage selection and presentation
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally

Requirements

  • Proven experience in restaurant or hotel environments, with a focus on bar management or supervisory roles
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety protocols
  • Experience in supervising teams within a hospitality setting, demonstrating leadership qualities
  • Familiarity with culinary practices, food production, and kitchen operations is desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles such as barista or front-of-house staff is advantageous
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team effectively while maintaining high standards of service
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to food and beverage establishments
  • Exceptional communication skills with a professional attitude towards guests and staff alike
