About Us:

We are a respected and growing main contractor working across a diverse range of sectors, with a strong pipeline of projects and a commitment to quality and safety, we are seeking a Site Manager with a solid main contracting background and a hands-on approach to join our team.

The Role:

As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of construction sites from groundworks through to completion. You will take ownership of health & safety, quality control, site logistics, subcontractor coordination, and progress reporting. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong leadership skills and a practical understanding of construction processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and supervise all site activities to ensure delivery on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance on site, promoting a positive and safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all works meet the project's high-end standards and specifications.
  • Coordinate trades, direct labour, and subcontractors on site.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve issues and ensure smooth project progression.
  • Monitor and report on site progress, programme, and productivity.
  • Conduct site inductions, tool box talks, and regular H&S checks.
  • Assist with short-term programming, materials scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Identify and resolve construction challenges on site.

Requirements:

  • Mental Health and/or New Build Housing Experience is essential.
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager with a main contractor.
  • Hands-on construction experience, ideally with a trade background.
  • Strong technical knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
  • SMSTS and First Aid at Work.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • A proactive and solution-focused attitude.

Desirable:

  • Temporary works coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of M&E coordination and contractor design portions.

Additional Information:

  • Location will vary depending on the job. Our sites are primarily based across London and East Anglia, so flexibility and willingness to travel within these areas is essential.
