We are seeking a skilled Cad Design Draughtsperson to join our busy Drawing Office within the R&D department based in Great Blakenham, Suffolk. Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, you will play a key role in creating accurate 2D and 3D designs, developing technical documentation, and supporting cross-departmental engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 3D models of components and assemblies using Siemens NX.
  • Produce precise 2D drawings from 3D models.
  • Prepare and issue Drawing Office documentation, including Engineering Change Notes, New Product Issues, Concessions, and Product Specification Sheets.
  • Liaise closely with R&D colleagues and other internal departments to support project and product development.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in 2D and 3D CAD, ideally using Siemens NX.
  • A national qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Strong communication, IT, and analytical skills.
  • A team player who can work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative.
  • Good understanding of tolerancing, manufacturing processes, and PDM/PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter).
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as Business Central or SAP.
