Position Summary
pixlbio is seeking a highly motivated
Scientist II
to join our R&D team and drive client projects involving gene editing, differentiation of iPSCs into specialised cell types (including hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes, and renal cells), and cell-based assays.

Key Responsibilities
- Organise and manage the execution of client projects, ensuring clear progress updates are reported to the Team Manager.
- Liaise with other internal teams and external third-party collaborators to ensure smooth end-to-end project delivery.
- Conduct gene editing (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9), iPSC culture and differentiation (including hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes, renal cells), and associated assay protocols.
- Accurately and timely record experimental data into Pixl Bio's record systems.
- Generate high-quality project reports summarising outcomes, insights and next steps.
- Assist with troubleshooting experimental workflows and contribute to process optimisation and improvement.
- Perform general laboratory housekeeping, including equipment care and maintaining compliance with lab standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- MSc Degree in Life Sciences or equivalent, with a solid understanding of stem cell technology, and
at least three years of laboratory experience
(Essential). - Minimum three years' hands-on experience in iPSC culture and differentiation
(Essential). - Previous experience with
iPSC-derived hepatocytes, cardiomyocytes, or renal cells
(Essential). - Experience with gene editing using CRISPR-Cas9 (Essential).
- Experience running and analysing cell-based assays (Desirable).
- Capability to work to a schedule, managing multiple challenging projects concurrently and meeting agreed deadlines (Essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and high standard of data integrity (Essential).
- Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently when required (Essential).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Essential).
