Corporate Tax Assistant Manager - Leicester

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically strong Corporate Tax Assistant Manager to join a prominent accounting firm based in Leicester. This accounting role involves managing a portfolio of corporate clients and delivering both compliance and advisory corporate tax services. As a Corporate Tax Assistant Manager in the accounting industry, you will work closely with the wider tax team and senior management to help grow the firm's corporate tax offering across Leicester and the surrounding region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients including owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed companies, and larger groups within the accounting sector.
  • Deliver corporation tax compliance and advisory services, including reviewing computations prepared by junior staff.
  • Provide tax planning advice on restructures, transactions, and specialist claims such as R&D tax credits.
  • Liaise with clients and HMRC to resolve corporate tax queries and enquiries efficiently.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior team members working on tax compliance and advisory tasks within the accounting practice.
  • Identify business development opportunities within the accounting industry and contribute to client pitches and proposals.

Required Experience

  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification with strong corporate tax knowledge and experience in an accounting practice.
  • Proven ability to manage client portfolios and deliver corporate tax compliance and advisory services in the accounting sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, client management experience, and ability to work independently.
  • Sound organisational skills and attention to detail necessary to meet strict client and statutory deadlines.

Desired Experience

  • Experience advising on complex corporate tax matters including group restructures, transactions, and international tax considerations.
  • Familiarity with tax and accounting software including cloud-based platforms.
