About us
The Schools ICT Technical Support Services team has been providing support to schools for over 20 years. The primary offering is an IT managed service solution for Service Level Agreement subscribers. Recently, we have broadened our services to encompass web design, hosting, and maintenance. The dynamic IT environment poses challenges but also offers significant rewards. The selected candidate will benefit from extensive training and practical experience.
The Role
We seek motivated ICT Support Technicians for our Technical Schools ICT Support Team. You should be flexible, organized, and adaptable to changing ICT environments, with the ability to self-motivate and respect the school setting.
This technical role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, development planning, and service delivery. Tasks include client-server operations, changing network infrastructures configurations across multiple sites. In-depth knowledge of these technologies is essential.
Key Requirements
- Excellent technical knowledge in the field of ICT especially relating to schools.
- Appreciation of school technology requirements and ensuring the schools are kept up to date effectively and efficiently through planning and budgeting.
- Excellent ability to organise and manage time effectively whilst having conflicting demanding priorities.
- An enthusiasm for ICT as a profession to help contribute toward team development and future growth.
- Assertive and capable of moving schools forward in accordance with regulation and policy.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate should have strong customer service and communication skills, capable of explaining technical information to diverse audiences. They should possess technical ICT qualifications or equivalent job experience in an ICT support role, demonstrable through their application and interview.

Our working arrangements
All council roles are allocated to either a fixed, field or flexible work style. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
