Job summary
Britain's energy system is changing fast, and the frameworks we build now will determine how fair, secure and sustainable our future will be. Ofgem is recruiting a Senior Policy Lead to help shape some of the UK's most significant climate and energy projects.
Ofgem is Great Britain's independent energy regulator. We're at the forefront of change across the energy sector, driving toward Net Zero whilst protecting energy consumers, especially vulnerable people.
We're offering a permanent opportunity for an experienced policy or regulation professional to join our Low Carbon Regulated Asset Base (RAB) team, working on frameworks that support major national programmes. This is your chance to work at the core of how the UK creates, funds and delivers the infrastructure needed for a fair and secure transition to low carbon and Net Zero.
You'll operate at the intersection of economic regulation, policy design and major infrastructure development, influencing multi-billion-pound schemes and shaping decisions that will affect all aspects of the energy system. Your insight will help ensure that low-carbon markets are structured in ways that are efficient, economical and anchored in the public interest.
Joining our supportive, trusted and high-performing team, you'll discover a collaborative culture, flexible working and commitment to shared success. Our flexible resourcing model means your expertise may be deployed across a range of strategic projects, affording you breadth of exposure and the chance to contribute across multiple areas.
We're looking for someone who brings a strong understanding of economic regulation or the wider infrastructure landscape, alongside the ability to lead, influence and deliver through others. You'll be confident navigating complex issues, distilling analysis, and engaging constructively with government, industry and internal specialists.
We have a critical purpose to ensure that Britain boasts an effective low-carbon infrastructure. Join us and help shape the regulatory decisions and frameworks that will underpin the UK's path to Net Zero.
