WE HAVE POSTIONS AVAILABLE FOR:

  • DAY STAFF - 8am to 8pm
  • NIGHT STAFF - 8pm to 8am (WAKING NIGHTS)

Duties:

  • Provide support and assistance to young people living within a Children's Residential Home in Plymouth with learning disabilities and other developmental disabilities such as Autism, and ADHD etc.
  • Implement and follow support plans to ensure the well-being and safety of the young people in your care.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement behavioural interventions.
  • Monitor and document behaviour changes.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all regulations.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid when necessary.
  • (Waking Nights) Assist with bedtime routines and overnight support and supervision.
  • Able to work shifts as to monthly rota and cover additional shifts if required (sometimes at short notice).

Experience Required:

  • Previous experience working with young people years of age) that can exhibit challenging behaviours along with some developmental disabilities is required and this must have been within the UK.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and as a lone worker.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Compassionate and empathic approach to other people in your care.

THE POSITION IS CLASSED AS TEMPORARY, ONGOING, WITH A POSSIBILITY OF A PERMANENT POSITION AFTER A QUALIFYING PERIOD.

Please note that this position does not require a nursing degree. However, individuals with a nursing background are encouraged to apply as their experience may be beneficial in providing quality support & care.
