We also have another business which runs alongside ARC called
Product Compliance Support (PCS) which is a product compliance and safety consultancy. The role will be based mainly with ARC but a knowledge of PCS activities will be required.

Role Summary

The Operations Manager at ARC will support the core operational functions of the business, ensuring high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, process efficiency, and growth scalability. This person acts as a bridge between technical, administrative and leadership functions, making sure that internal operations support the customer expectations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring client engagements and service delivery run smoothly and to schedule.
  • Day-to-day tasks include managing the team in dealing with enquiries, sales, quotes, invoicing, new customer set-up, renewals and follow ups.
  • Day to day management of a small team.
  • Ensure that ARC's service delivery is aligned with evolving regulatory requirements (e.g. GPSR, UKCA, CE Marking rules, etc.).
  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and risk points in operational workflows; propose and implement improvements.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, templates, and service frameworks.
  • Institute quality control checks, metrics, and KPIs to monitor operational health.
  • Submitting Technical product information on EU notification portals. Training will be provided.

Essential requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science, Regulatory Affairs, Business, or related discipline
  • Several years' experience in a commercial/customer servicer role
  • Experience in a managerial role
  • Confident and experienced in dealing with customers on phone and teams' meetings
  • Versatile and able to work independently
  • Tech-savvy, with experience using Microsoft office and CRM tools.

Desirable requirements:

  • Using Freeagent of similar accounting software
  • Knowledge of product compliance legislation

Full time role:
Mon-Fri, 9-5, hours flexible

Place of work:
Office in Lancaster (initial 3months) then remote if desired.

Salary:
£40K/£45K includes any pension contributions

Holiday:
Days (includes Bank Holidays)
