H&S Manager

What you'll do...

The role has a primary focus on the environmental management of an Upper Tier COMAH and A2 Environment Permitted site, with additional challenges managing the biodiversity of surrounding on-site areas, located within a larger environmentally sensitive landscape. Additionally you will be expected to assist with the delivery and coordination of both the environmental and operational and operational health, safety, and welfare activities across the Agratas UK business.

The role requires broad business awareness and experience, with particularly good understanding of processes associated with high hazard and COMAH and environmental regulation. It requires the post holder to regularly liaise with the regulators to promote good partnership working arrangements..

The job holder is required to have the ability to establish relationships, solve problems; negotiate, develop and agree outcomes with others; and make decisions in a dynamic way.

Based on-site at the Bridgwater manufacturing site, but supporting other sites within the group, as required.

Agratas is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons. We will design, develop and manufacture high-quality, high-performance, sustainable batteries for the mobility and energy sectors. We are a scale-up business with a start-up mentality and the backing of a well-established parent company. The UK business headquarters is in the Midlands and we are currently building a battery manufacturing facility in Bridgwater, Somerset.

The Manufacturing team at Agratas is a newly established team, currently focusing on the transformation of our 307 acre site in Bridgwater into a world-class manufacturing facility for high-performance battery cells. We are a team of self-motivated engineers and technicians who clearly like to be challenged and thrive in an everchanging scale-up environment.

What you'll bring...

• Health, Safety and Environmental management experience including responsibility for the management of colleagues
• CMIOSH or MIEMA or equivalent
• Experience of working in a high-hazard environment, such as a COMAH regulated site
• Experienced in obtaining and managing environmental and safety related consents & permits
• Preferably from a chemicals manufacturing or other heavily regulated industry

The role holder is required to hold one or more of the following HSE qualifications:

• NEBOSH Diploma in Environmental Management
• Safety, Health and/or Environmental Honours Degree (Bachelor's or Higher)
• NEBOSH General Certificate
• Equivalent qualification in Safety, Health and/or Environmental subject.
